THE MADRIGALS

Madrigal

noun   mad·ri·gal \ˈma-dri-gəl\

Definition:

A madrigal is a brief lyrical composition. Its principal theme is love and emotion. A madrigal was typical of the Italian Renaissance.

We were inspired by this definition to create a program within Feijoo Ballet School's curriculum for our emerging dancers.

The Madrigals perform at several community events throughout the year where they showcase their dancing abilities in several genres such as ballet, tap, jazz and musical theater dance. Prospective Madrigals are selected by an audition process beginning at the age of 8. The 2019/2020 theme is "Madrigals: Classic Hollywood". The show includes pieces that celebrate the classic era of Hollywood film. This will be the fourth season of The Madrigals.  Past performances include the SPA's HEB Performance Preludes at Jones Hall, The Houston Children's Festival, Grand Kids Festival by The Grand Opera House in Galveston, The Pasadena Strawberry Festival and several elementary school carnivals in our area.  Additionally, The Madrigals perform at retirement homes during the holidays and this past season they were invited to be cast members of four of the shows of the Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theater

The Madrigals rehearse on Saturdays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM
