Alexander Alvarez Silvestre

Physical Conditioning

Alexander Alvarez Silvestre was born in the Dominican Republic.  At the age of 15, he moved to Puerto Rico with his family. He graduated from the Jose Julian Acosta Theater Arts  School in San Juan. In 2017, he began his training in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and ballroom at Centro Danza in Puerto Rico  under the direction of Laura Valentin and Osmay Molina. While at Centro Danza, he performed roles in classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Raymonda, Laura Valentin's adaptation of The Nutcracker, Lucien in Coppelia, La Fille Mal Garde, among others.

Mr. Alvarez Silvestre represented Puerto Rico in prestigious competitions such as Puerto Rico Classical Dance Competition (1st Place Classical & Contemporary), Dance Open America (1st Place Contemporary, 2nd Place Classical), Youth America Grand Prix Virtual Competition (1st Place Classical, 2nd Place Contemporary), and Miami International Ballet Competition (3rd Place Classical/Contemporary).

Alexander is a passionate and dynamic dancer. He just moved to the Houston area this past August to join the Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre as Artist in Residence  under the direction of Nelson Madrigal . He is also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique teacher and currently is the Physical Conditioning instructor at Feijoo Ballet School.
