Natalie Cannon Zundel

Associate Artistic Director

Ballet Mistress

Natalie Cannon Zundel is thrilled to be a part of Feijóo Ballet School. She has over ten years of teaching experience in the greater Houston area. Most of those years were spent under the direction of her late friend and mentor, Lynette Mason Gregg. Ms. Zundel is most passionate about working with young students in classical ballet and tap, but she has experience teaching many different genres of dance.

Ms. Zundel was honored to serve for five years as Ballet Mistress of the Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre before becoming the Associate Artistic Director in 2016. In 2001, she received BAHBT’s Helen Mason Scholarship Award: a full scholarship to study in New York City. She also received scholarships and professional training from The Kirov Academy in Washington D.C. and American Ballet Theater in New York. While dancing with BAHBT, she performed coveted roles including Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Katrina in Alan Hineline’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and her favorite role as Giselle. In 2003, she began her professional choreographic debut with the company. Ms. Zundel has enjoyed directing and choreographing six full-length ballets for BAHBT: Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Swan Lake.

In 2009, Ms. Zundel received a Bachelors degree in Fitness and Human Performance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She is honored to be a part of Feijóo Ballet School and BAHBT working with such young, talented, and inspiring dancers. She and husband Ryan have two beautiful daughters, Madeline Renee and Penelope Anne. She would like to thank her family for their endless love and support, personally and professionally.
